Day 8 after Cycle 1 Chemotherapy

I had very little sleep last night - probably an hour or so.  Just tossed and turned and couldn't get to sleep. 

Went to see Dr Chan for a scheduled appointment this morning.  He said that mild side effects is good.  Though I think I better not say it too early.  After all it's only been a week on Tagrisso.  I also mentioned to him regarding the strange growth on the inner side of my cheek in the mouth.  He said that there was some inflammation of the salivary glands.  He checked the lymph nodes in my throat and said that there was nothing abnormal.  He gave me more mouth wash and a cream Oracourt-E to apply to the "ulcer".  I could also feel my gums abit tender.

Lunch was my favourite ee-mien at 18 Tai Seng, after Dr Chan told wifey that he doesn't see why I cannot eat minced pork.  We also went to Hougang Poly to collect my Vitamin D, which Grace Chiang recommended.  

Tea break was cheese/avocado toast. 

Dinner was a tomato-based lasagne style prep that wifey concocted.  I find that I need something more flavourful as my taste buds seem to be changing.  Everything seems more bland. Better be more religious with the gargles and making sure the ulcers don't flare up.  Throat also feels a bit hoarse.  

Astra-Zeneca rejected my application for concession for Tagrisso.  Dr Chan said that he will try to appeal for me.  Shao Yen also approved my full-time WFH till the end of the year.  Nice of him.  But I'll still need to go back to office to do my packing before the A&A works start.

Day 1 Cycle 3 Chemotherapy - 6 June 2025 SPO2 = 97 BP = 117/87 Pulse = 81 Weight = 65.3 kg Temp : 36.2 C   HB1AC : 5.4 Went off this morning to Mt Elizabeth Novena for my 3rd chemo cycle.  The change in venue was because the main clinic at Mt E Orchard was undergoing renovations.  It was the staffs' first day at this place and I could sense their stress.  However, everything was still professionally done and it was ok.   Dr Chan reviewed the PET scan report with us and he was happy with the results that showed a significant reduction in the tumours.  However, the ones in my left lung were also reduced, indicating that the earlier suspicion that the cancer had spread to the left lung was true.  Other than that, the outcome was generally positive and he discussed the possibility of a radiotherapy using possible proton radiotherapy.  He asked me to consider the options though physical resection is also another option.  To his own analy...

Day 8 Cycle 3 Chemotherapy - 13 June 2025 SPO2 = 97 BP = 128/81 Pulse = 73 Weight = 66.2 kg Temp : 36.4 C   Dr Chan sent over my urine report.  Doesn't seem to be much of a problem in the indicators.  He will update me when the bacteria culture comes back in a few days' time.  Went to office for lunch with our CorpComms girls.  Had fish porridge. Afternoon was clearing up the room and some discussions.  Then we had the Collaborative Contracting sharing sessions till about 6pm.  Came home for a simple dinner after that.   Condition is stable, but generally dry skin with some painful cracks at the heels and fingers.  The one on my right thumb is particularly painful.

Day 5 after Cycle 1 Chemotherapy - 25 Apr 2025

  Day 5 after Cycle 1 Chemotherapy SPO2 = 98 BP = 113/86 Pulse = 83 Weight = 67.6 kg Temp : 36.3 C Strangely, I managed to sleep almost through the night except for one toilet break at about 3am.  Other than that, the medications seemed to have held back the hiccups for now.  I'll have to see what the effects are for the rest of today.  Just read an article about Asian lung cancers from a Singapore Cancer Centre research, and it isn't very reassuring.  It said that some of the chemos don't work after awhile and the cancer relapses.  :(  I only pray that I'll be one of the "normal" patients that these treatments will work on.  Keeping my fingers crossed and God hears me!  Went out for a short 30 minute walk to the Tai Keng playground with wifey.  Feel slightly breathless, but that's probably psychological.  Good to get out for some fresh air.  Thus far, the hiccups are still held at bay.  Not sure if it will return, but I g...
