Day 1 Cycle 3 Chemotherapy - 6 June 2025
SPO2 = 97

Went off this morning to Mt Elizabeth Novena for my 3rd chemo cycle. The change in venue was because the main clinic at Mt E Orchard was undergoing renovations. It was the staffs' first day at this place and I could sense their stress. However, everything was still professionally done and it was ok.
Dr Chan reviewed the PET scan report with us and he was happy with the results that showed a significant reduction in the tumours. However, the ones in my left lung were also reduced, indicating that the earlier suspicion that the cancer had spread to the left lung was true. Other than that, the outcome was generally positive and he discussed the possibility of a radiotherapy using possible proton radiotherapy. He asked me to consider the options though physical resection is also another option. To his own analysis, I should be Stage 4 already though he didn't expressly say it.
He also ok'ed the China-manufactured Tagrisso that I managed to get from Beijing that it was an authentic Astra-Zeneca product. I still have 2 weeks' worth of the Singapore Tagrisso, hence I'll be able to take the China version after I finish the Singapore stock.
The chemo infusion went well like clockwork, and I was back home for lunch. Now to wait for the hiccups to hit me as was the case in the 1st and 2nd cycles. Ironically, it is the steroids that causes this side effect and not the chemo drugs. Anyway, it's a good trade off for the more aggressive side effects of Alimta and Carboplatin.
I took the Dexamethasone at around 5:30pm but this time, I'm experimenting with taking the Chloroprozamine at the same time with the steroid instead of waiting for the hiccups to occur first.
I also got the ok from Dr Chan to take the Humantra electrolyte that I'm trying to get myself to drink more water.
I took another Chloroprozine before bedtime and my usual Tagrisso/Folic Acid dose and it seemed to hold off the hiccups for a bit and allowed me to sleep almost throughout the night! The hiccups started early morning but I managed to drink water and stop it for the time being.
