Day 5 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 5 July 2025 SPO2 = 97 BP = 135/84 Pulse = 70 Weight = 66.9 kg Temp : 36.1 C  Hb A1c : 8.1 Sugar levels remained very high throughout the night and only dropped into the range in the later part of 5-6am.  Still, at 8.1 this is not acceptable for glucose control.  Hiccups kept me up 3-4 times during the night and interrupted my sleep.  The chlorpromazine  didn't seem to help as much tonight,

Day 4 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 4 July 2025

Day 4 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 4 July 2025 SPO2 = 95 BP = 129/89 Pulse = 70 Weight = 67.2 kg Temp : 36.1 C  Hb A1c : 7.8 My glucose level remains high.  I guess it will drop to normal levels after I finish the Dexamethasone by today. The hiccups interrupted my sleep at least 4 times in the night.  But the 'drowning' technique helped resolved most of them.  Also needed to pee more often cos of the higher amount of water that I needed to drink to resolve the hiccups.  I took a pill of the chlorpromazine  but that didn't seem to help as much as the previous night. Note to myself to control my diet which affects my glucose level in the first 5-6 days of taking Dexamethasone, as it renders my metformin ineffective at controlling the HB A1c levels. Had a lunch of chicken bolognese spaghetti and it kept my sugar levels high thoroughout the day.  Not too good with carbo loaded diets when the steroid is still strong in the body.  Hiccups are still there, and...

Day 3 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 3 July 2025

Day 3 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 3 July 2025 SPO2 = 98 BP = 112/74 Pulse = 76 Weight = 66.1 kg Temp : 36.1 C  Hb A1c : 8.3 Had fewer episodes of hiccups over the night.  Not sure if the chlopromazine  helped or not, but I managed to sleep alot better till 8:30!  Had my usual rolled oats/glucerna breakfast but my HB1Ac is still very high due to the steroid messing around with the metformin's effectiveness.   Went for my usual 20min walkie.  Feeling a bit tired, but still have to be disciplined to get some movement and outdoors despite that.   Drove over to MY's place to pick up my lunch.  Chicken, roasted veggies and garlic basmati rise.  The hiccups are back this afternoon. Had my 2nd self-injection for the platelets.  Dr Chan also sent me my recent blood report.  CEA was down to 5!  Not sure what this means, but he did recommend that a maintenance treatment of Alimta + Tagrisso should continue even after this cycle....

Day 2 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 2 July 2025

Day 2 Cycle 4 Chemotherapy - 2 July 2025 SPO2 = 97 BP = 126/87 Pulse = 81 Weight = 66.6 kg Temp : 36.1 C  HB1AC : 8.2 One day after my 4th chemo cycle with Carboplatin and Alimta.  Still anticipating that the hiccups will start soon.  Strangely my HV1AC has shot through the roof!  I wonder if the chemo has destroyed the effect of Metformin yesterday.  I'll have to monitor that after taking today's dose.   Went for my morning walkie.  Must be more disciplined with the exercises and weight training!  Just read on ChatGPT that it is the steroids that can mess around with the metformin and reduce its effectiveness.  So I have to be careful with my sugar intake until the dose of the dexamethasone finishes in 3 days' time.  The hiccups came back after dinner and into supper.  Did the usual 'drowning' trick to ease off the hiccups.  I relented and started taking the Chlorpromazine  pill together with my usual nightly Tagriss...
